Carvers acted for Amy. Amy had one child with her partner Dave. Dave was abusive towards Amy and she turned to alcohol to cope.
The police were called to the address by concerned neighbours following a violent incident. Amy was found to have suffered injuries and be under the influence of alcohol. Amy’s daughter was in the home and police were so concerned for her safety, they removed her into local authority foster care. The local authority issued court proceedings.
We assisted Amy in separating from Dave and obtaining assistance for her alcohol misuse. We were able to show the court that Amy could safely parent her daughter away from Dave and proceedings concluded with the child being returned to Amy’s sole care where she remains. Dave has contact with his daughter which is supervised by the local authority.
